Obituary

Charles Edwin Rawlings age 85 of Morgan, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at his residence in Morgan.

Charles Edwin Rawlings was born on May 27, 1937 in Floydada, Texas to Lonnie Alvin and Vera Mae Gilliam Rawlings. He grew up and graduated from Big Spring High School. After high school he attended and graduated with a Masters in Mechanial Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. Soon after college graduation he was drafted along with his twin brother Earl into the United States Army. The two brothers served together for 2 years. After being discharged Edwin decided to move home and help his father at Circle D. Marine Service in Lakeside Village. Edwin ran and operated Circle D Marine Service for 45 years. Outside of working on boats he joined the Lakeside Village Volunteer Fire Department in 1976 and was a faithful member up until 2 years ago when he decided to finally retire.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sue; daughter, Tammy Benson; great-niece, Lindsey Doyel; siblings, Mary Beasley, Earl Rawlings; dear friends from the Lakeside Village Volunteer Fire Department; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
