Delma Joy Chesshir, 80, of Dallas, Texas and Cranfills Gap, Texas, gracefully passed away on January 4, 2021 at her residence in Dallas. She was the beloved wife of Glen Chesshir, and mom to Glenda Chesshir.

Delma  was born October 12, 1940 in Brownfield, Texas to the late Aaron and Verna Fox. She married Glen Chesshir on July 1, 1959 in San Diego, California while he was service in the United States Navy. Delma was a successful business owner with her husband and daughter in Dallas, Texas. She enjoyed all aspects of the business of Chesshir Stone and Rock Supply, but she was "The Boss". She also enjoyed traveling the world and has many trinkets and beautiful  memorabilia representing different countries. Delma was the best cook ever and learned the skill from Glen's mother in the early years of their marriage. They were married for 61 years. Delma was a savvy shopper. Delma was a bargain shopper and enjoyed shopping in Neiman Marcus to the garage sales in Bosque County. In fact she came home from a garage sale with a puppy who became a beloved family member named Bosco. Delma was a flashy dresser. She always looked colorful and beautiful. The hair and nail appointments were her Wednesday morning regular routine. She was beautiful on the outside but on the inside she was a loving mom, devoted wife, Christian, producing business owner, great cook, sweet aunt and friend to many. Delma and her radiant self will always be missed from those near and far. "There is a time to mourn and a time to dance".

Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Glen Chesshir; daughter, Glenda Chesshir; sister, Thelma Bennett; nieces, Sharon Woods, Becky Parrish; nephews, Doug North, Issac Bennett, and Joe Marshall.

Preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Verna Fox; sisters, Dixie Davis, Rhonda Jo Marshall; sister-in-law, Barbara North; nephews, Roger Profit, Micky Scott; and niece, Vickie Scott.

Funeral services are going to be 1 P.M., Friday, January 8, 2021 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Rock Church in Cranfills Gap. Rev. Brian Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow also at the St. Olaf Lutheran Rock Church Cemetery in Cranfills Gap. Visitation will take place at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. The family asks you please follow the CDC guidelines for Social Distancing and wearing a mask.
