Dennis Gene Caughron

Dennis G. Caughron age 71 of Whitney, passed away on March 15, 2021 at his residence in Whitney.

Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Morgan Cemetery.

Dennis Gene Caughron was born on July 22, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Loreen LaVelle and Rose Maurine Penton Caughton. He grew up and was educated in Lancaster, Texas. After high school he went to the Navy and served his country for 4 1/2 years. Upon being honorably discharged from the Navy he married Deborah Petty in 1973. Dennis worked in the maintenance department for TXU for 37 1/2 years before retiring. He was active in the Masonic Lodge in his younger years.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Deborah Caughron; children, Leshia Cowell and husband, Leon, Scotty Caughron and wife, Shelly, Kaylen Caughron and husband, Bobby Carpenter; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Barbara Ross, Sammy Caughron and Rusty Caughron; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Loreen "Sonny" Caughron; and mother, Rose Caughron.
