Donnie Luther Phillips

Donnie Phillips age 80 of Temple, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2019 surrounded by family while under hospice care at Baylor-Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Lawson Funeral Home. Mark Morris will officiate. Private graveside services will be at Brazos Point Cemetery near Kopperl, Texas.

Donnie Phillips was born on August 3, 1938 in the Brazos Point Community to Lonnie Luther and Gladys Lorene Moore Phillips. He married his loving wife, Eulene Alexander in Godley on September 6, 1957. They enjoyed 62 years together. He began his career with the Santa Fe Railroad in 1957. Donnie completed machinist school at the top of his class and retired in 1999 after 43 years of service. He loved county music and played fiddle and guitar. He was a very compassionate man who loved animals, especially dogs and cats.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Eulene Phillips of Temple; daughters, Donna Boyer and husband, Greg, of Rhome, Dawn Morris and husband, Mark, of Bedford, Jennifer Wood and husband, Kevin, of Round Rock; grandchildren, Candice Peterson and husband, Joey, of Plymouth, MN, Ryan Petty and wife, Hannah, of Cleburne, Elise Wood of Round Rock; great-granddaughters, Annabel and Evie Peterson of Plymouth, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Luther and Gladys Lorene Moore Phillips.
