Eliza Christine Catchings

Eliza Christine Catchings age 26, of Meridian, was called to her heavenly home on February 17, 2022 in Waco, Texas.

To honor Eliza’s bright and vibrant personality, the family requests that anyone attending the services wear bright colors.

Funeral services will take place at the Meridian High School Gymnasium on February 25, 2022 at 2 P.M. Bro. Richard Creech will officiate. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Pallbearers will be Matt Powell, Chase Aikens, Brian “Richard” Hardin, Rickey Kuykendall, Caden Huckabay, and Troy Boswell. Honorary pallbearers will be Kamree and Lena Kaye Nieuwenhuis, Kaylee Kuykendall, Kenadee Kuykendall, Kelli Kuykendall, Cohen Archer, and Samantha Jeffers.

Eliza Christine Catchings was born on November 2, 1995 in Austin, Texas to Billy Joe "Bubba" Catchings and Melba Meredith Catchings. She graduated from Anahuac High School in 2014. After high school she went to college before moving to Meridian in 2015. Eliza went to school to become a phlebotomist and worked in area hospitals before realizing her true passion was working with children. She has been employed as a Paraprofessional with MISD for the past couple of years where she served in many capacities.

Left to cherish her memories are her parents, Billy Joe "Bubba" and Melba Catchings; siblings, Brandon Archer and wife, Randi, Katrina Catchings, Austin Catchings; aunts, Christy Soliz and husband, Ruben, Lorie Knippa and husband, Scott; nieces, Ashley Archer, Kylie Rieger; nephews, Cohen Archer, Jayden Wright, Victor Work, Caden Huckabay; paternal grandparents, Bill and Paulette Catchings; adopted family, Kristy Kuykendall and Brian Hardin, Katie Brasfield, Beth Brasfield and Brook DeZavala, Ryan, Kamree and Lena Kaye Nieuwenhuis, Kaylee Kuyendall, Kenadee Kuykendall, Kelli Kuykendall, and Samantha Jeffers; numerous other relatives and countless friends whose lives she touched dearly.

Preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Garvan S. and Lois Meredith; uncle, Garvan H. Meredith; and sister-in-law, Crystal Archer.
