Jose Raul Vara

Jose Raul Vara, age 67 of Walnut Springs, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 at his residence in Walnut Springs.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M., Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Walnut Springs Baptist Church. Rev. T J Joyner will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M., Friday, November 16, 2018 at Lawson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jose Garduno, Jonathan Vara, Thomas Dunn, Chad McClure, Joe John Vara and Randall Griffin.

Jose Raul Vara was born on May 13, 1951 in Real County, Texas to Jose and Maria Gomez Vara.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Joseph Vara of Walnut Springs, Mario Vara and wife, Kayla of Walnut Springs and their children, Brooklynn, Kingsley, and Havynn all of Walnut Springs, Erica Garduno and husband, Jose, and their children, Gavin and Emery, all of Walnut Springs; siblings, Maria Montoya of Glen Rose, Dolores Enriquez of Joshua, Florinda Garcia of Oklahoma, Yolanda Garcia of Oklahoma, Sandy Muniz of Walnut Springs, Joe Vara, Jr., of Walnut Springs, Julian Vara of Joshua, and Larry Vara of Austin; numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Anita Vara; parents, Joe and Maria Gomez Vara; brothers, Bonifacio Vara, Fred Vara, Arturo Vara, Guillermo Vara, and Johnny Vara; and sister, Lydia Garcia.
