Kenneth Ray Hix age 77, of Meridian, passed away unexpectedly in an automotive accident on December 19, 2021 near Meridian.

Per his wishes there will not be any services at this time.

Kenneth Ray Hix was born on July 30, 1944 in McGregor to Jack and Matilda Witt Hix. He graduated from Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth and soon after started attending the University of Texas in Arlington, Texas. From high school on he spent most of his working life in management positions, and was employed at Edison's Jewelers, National Welding Supply and Airgas in Fort Worth. After retirement, Ken spent most of his time improving the family property outside of Meridian, Texas. Everybody liked Ken. He had a great sense of humor, was witty and naturally funny. Ken loved life and lived it to the fullest every day. He was energetic, hardworking and could build and repair just about anything. He had multiple projects going all the time, including construction, mechanical, agricultural, etc. Ken had a soft spot for all animals and loved watching the deer and turkey. He was especially devoted to all the dogs and cats he raised his whole life. Ken was a family man who would help anyone who asked. We will forever love and remember him.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 55 years, Trisha Blocker Hix; sister-in-law, Rachel Blocker; brother-in-law, Tim Blocker and wife, B.J.; sisters, Mary Payblas and husband, Nick; Barbara Boyett; nephews, Cody Wilks and wife, Sierra, Casey Wilks, Boone Blocker, Zachary Blocker, Rob Helsel and wife, Juliann, Greg Helsel and wife, Teara, Steven Robbins, Phillip Payblas and wife, Louise; niece, Stacy Vernon and husband, Aaron; 7 grandnephews and 3 grandnieces; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by father, Fort Worth Fire Captain Jack Hix and mother, Matilda Witt; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Melba and Fayte Blocker.

Arrangements were made by Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
