Larry J. Wheeler, 79 of Morgan Texas passed away Friday, March 5,2021 in Burleson, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on March 11,2021 at the Kopperl Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M at Lawson Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Kary Archer, Barry Payne, Jay Rowland, Logan Runyon, Tommy Tharpe, and Steven Wheeler.

Larry was born December 3, 1941 in Dallas, Texas, son of Faris and Margarette Wheeler. The family moved to Crosbyton, Texas when Larry was five years old. He helped his father on the family farm until he graduated from High School. He attended Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.

Larry was united in marriage to Jackie L. Rowland on July 3, 1962 at Glen Rose, Texas.

Larry worked as an electrician at the Santa Fe Railroad shops in Cleburne, Texas for 20 years and enjoyed every moment of it.

After retiring from Santa Fe Railroad, Larry started his own business known as Wheeler Drilling and Well Service. He maintained this business for 25 years until he retired in 2009.

Larry was a member of the Kopperl Masonic Lodge #292 and served many positions during his tenure there. He was also a member of the Kopperl United Methodist Church. He delighted in keeping the church grounds maintained to perfection.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Faris and Margarette Wheeler and his twin sisters Brenda and Glenda. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Wheeler of Morgan. Daughter Leigh Runyon and husband Rad of Cleburne and son, David Wheeler and wife Holily of Birmingham, Alabama. Two grandsons, Logan Runyon and wife Bailee of Fort Worth and Steven Wheeler and his wife Lauren of Dallas. Numerous relatives and a host of friends.
