Patsy Smith

August 13, 1939 — July 9, 2021

Morgan, Texas

Patsy Smith of Morgan, Tx went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep on July 9, 2021.  She was 81 years old.  Born and raised in Meridian, Tx she was a 1957 graduate of Meridian High School.  Shortly after graduation she enrolled in Cosmetology School in Waco, Tx.

In February of 1963 she married Leo Mack Smith of Morgan and soon began raising a family along with starting a career as a licensed beautician in the Bosque County area.

A lifelong beautician serving the Meridian Manor Nursing Home residents for over 40 years, it was her passion to love on the elderly and help them feel valued and adored. Serving the residents of the nursing home was more than a job to her, it was her ministry. She wanted every resident to know they were known and loved by God.  Many times her payment for the years of service she provided came in the form of something a resident left to her after they were called home to the Lord. She would always call them her treasures.

As a member of the First Baptist Church of Morgan, she held many volunteer roles including Sunday School teacher, custodian, and overseer of the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and other mission focuses for the church. She loved knowing that a handful of people in a small town in Morgan could contribute to the Gospel being heard around the world.

She would say that her finest accomplishment was her three daughters and their growing families, but her daughters would tell you that her finest accomplishment was that she made certain that her family knew and loved the Lord.  She prioritized that every Sunday honored Christ with our worship and obedience to the Lord’s Day.  We, as a family, imperfectly sought a perfect God. And because of her faith, which was planted by her grandmother, she changed the trajectory of her children, their children, and her great grandchildren. To God be the glory!

O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh faints for You, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary beholding Your power and glory. Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in Your name I will lift up my hands. For You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings I will sing for joy. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. Psalm 63: 1-4;7-8.
