Rickey Ray Allen, age 71, of Rio Vista, passed away on July 19, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M., Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Lawson Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Noland, Joseph Noland, John Rasberry, Brandon McKamie, Keaden Locke, and Jonathan Terry. Rev. Richard Creech will officiate.

Rickey Ray Allen was born on February 10, 1948 in Meridian, Texas to Alvin and Anna Bell Pace Allen. He went to school in Morgan and Cleburne until the 8th grade. After he left school he went to work at the Purina Feed Mill in Fort Worth. Shortly after leaving his job at Purina Feed Mill he went to work for Lockheed Martin. His Uncle Ben talked him into coming to Waco and working for his plumbing company. Rickey learned enough from working for his uncle that he decided to move back to Cleburne and open his own plumbing company. In 1989 he closed Allen's Plumbing and opened A&H UST Update building gas stations and commercial buildings. After several years of working in the environmental industry he finally decided to open Johnson County Redi Mix in 1999. In his little free time when he was not working he enjoyed fishing, ranching, hunting, gardening, and being outdoors.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Lisa Allen; son, Robert Corey Allen and wife, Patty, and their children, Brandon, Kalyn, Kara, Tara, Misha, Brook, Joseph, and Justin; daughter, Beckey Lynn Blevins, and her daughter, Shani Denise Blevins; daughter, Amanda Diane Ayers and husband, Michael, and their children, Grace, Keaden, Kyllie, and Payton; siblings, Bobby Allen and wife, Wanda, Opal Proctor; a number of great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Nancy Anna Belle Pace Allen; wife, Alice Ruth Allen; and multiple siblings.
