Obituary

Velma Webb age 77, of Morgan, passed away on April 6, 2023 in Pasadena, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian, Texas. Bro. Richard Creech will officiate. Burial will be in the Morgan Cemetery. Visitation will be held with family and friends from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M., Monday, April 10, 2023 at Lawson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Robert Pickering, Kevin Vailes, Caleb Whiddon, Stephen Young, Steve Whiddon, Bobby Talley, Wayne Blackburn and Kelby Lewis. Honorary Pallbearer is Les Ratliff.

Velma Fulcher was born on September 8, 1945 in Cleveland, Texas to Wayland and Carrie Dulaney Fulcher. She married the love of her life, Billy T. Webb in 1972. Velma retired from Meridian ISD where she worked in the school cafeteria for a number of years. Her love of cooking and kids made this her ideal job. Her pinto beans, banana pudding and anything chicken fried were second to none. She loved her vegetable garden was always generous in sharing the harvest. Velma dedicated her life to caring for her family and others. 

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Lorene Pickering and husband, Thurman, of La Porte, Sassy Whiddon and husband, Tommy, of Morgan; grandchildren, Robert Pickering of Houston, Stephanie Young and husband, Stephen, of La Porte, Kevin Vailes and wife, Cailtin, of Willis, Brandy Gray and husband, Kyler, of Austin, Genifer Nachlinger and husband, Kaden, of Hermleigh, Caleb Whiddon and wife, Abbey, of Snyder; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Pickering, Wynnstan Pickering, Adeline Vailes, Rayne Gray; siblings, Shirley Blackburn of Arlington, Martin Fulcher and wife, Gale, of Cleveland, Linda Squier and husband, Brian, of Splendora, Debbie Sullivan of Atlanta, Bobby Talley and wife, Debbie, of Splendora, Jerry Hoffa of Canton, Carrie Bogaski, of Arlington, Eddie Hunter and wife, Cindy, of Eustace; brother-in-law, Johnny Webb of Utopia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceded in death by the love of her life, Billy T. Webb; and sister, Lillian Talley.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
